🌈 Concord Safety Guide
Stay safe. Stay smart. Stay… fabulous.
Whether you're here to vibe, flirt, find friends, or build your own little digital kingdom, your safety matters. Concord is built to feel personal, immersive, and emotionally intelligent — but staying safe online (and IRL) is still essential. This guide gives you smart, simple ways to protect yourself while keeping the experience fun and free.
🛡️ 1. Your Privacy, Your Power
Concord gives you flexible privacy controls so you decide how visible, reachable, and open you want to be.
🔍 Discovery Settings
You’ll find these under Privacy Settings → Discovery Settings.
- Opt out of discovery: Hide from Explore entirely. You won't see others there either — a mutual disappearing act. 🪄
- Opt out of location tracking: Hide your distance and nearby visibility. Perfect if you want to browse without the neighbourhood knowing.
💬 Messaging Privacy
Choose who can slide into your DMs:
- Everyone
- Friends & friends of friends
- Friends only
If your inbox ever feels a bit too touristy, simply tighten the settings.
📣 Followers Privacy
Control who can follow you:
- Everyone
- Friends & friends of friends
- Friends only
Keep it open if you like the attention, close it if you prefer a curated crowd. ✨
🎂 Hide Age
When enabled, no one can see your age — and you won’t see theirs. Great for anonymity. (And yes, we know: sometimes age is just a vibe.)
🔞 Content Filters
If you don’t want sexual content in your DMs, disable it.
If you do… well, enjoy responsibly.
🧬 2. Face Identity Verification (A.K.A. Anti-Catfish Energy 🐱🐟)
Remember this one?
“Say goodbye to catfish! No more fake b****s. We're introducing face identity verification so you can see when someone’s photos genuinely match the person behind the profile.”**
Verification takes under a minute — show your face to the camera, let the AI match it to your profile photos, and boom: verified.
- No government ID required.
- Encrypted and inaccessible to everyone (including Concord staff).
- Verified photos get a badge. Unverified ones show a warning.
Verification doesn’t guarantee someone’s intentions, but it does guarantee they’re a real human with a real face. Always a solid start.
💬 3. Smart Online Conversations
Concord is about connection — but not everyone deserves a backstage pass to your life.
🚫 Don’t share personal info too quickly
Avoid giving out:
- Your phone number
- Home address or workplace
- Banking details (obviously)
- Passwords (super obvious)
- Your full daily routine
- Private photos you’d regret sharing later
If someone keeps pushing for personal info early on, that’s a neon red flag.
⭐ Trust vibes, but verify behaviour
If someone sounds too perfect, moves too fast, or acts inconsistent with their photos/verified status, take a step back.
🧊 Keep early conversations inside the app
Conversations in Concord are safer than swapping to other platforms, especially in early talking stages.
💜 Report anything sketchy
Harassment? Impersonation? Creepy behaviour? Anything you're unsure or sceptical about?
Use our in-app reporting tools — it helps keep the entire community safer.
🎭 4. Profile Red Flags to Watch Out For
Some classic “hmm…” moments:
- Face photos but refuses to verify
- Messages that feel pushy or manipulative
- Sudden requests for money or gifts
- Inconsistent stories or constantly changing details
- Trying to take the conversation off-platform ASAP
- No photos + no verification + overly romantic within 2 minutes
- “I swear I'm 23 but my profile says 43 because… reasons.”
People may decline verification for honest reasons too — but if something feels off, trust your instincts.
🤝 5. Meeting in Person – Safety First
Whether you’re meeting a new friend or a potential flame, do it right.
📍 Choose a public location
Cafés, malls, outdoor venues, events — somewhere with people, staff, and exits.
🗣️ Tell someone you trust
Share:
- Who you’re meeting
- Where
- When
- When you expect to be home
Yes, even adults should do this.
🚗 Your transport = your independence
Have your own way to arrive and leave. Don’t let someone pick you up or drop you off until you absolutely trust them.
🧃 Stay sober-ish
If you're having drinks, keep your drink with you.
If it’s a non-drinking hangout, keep your wits sharp.
🚪 Leave whenever you want
If you’re uncomfortable, bored, annoyed, or the vibe is off — you can leave. You don’t need a “valid reason.”
🕵️♂️ 6. Sharing Private Photos
Concord gives you control, but here’s the golden rule:
Once something is sent, you can’t control where it goes.
If you're sending private or sensitive media:
- Only send to people you've built trust with.
- Use disappearing or temporary formats outside Concord if needed.
- Don’t send anything you wouldn’t want leaked or shared.
(We’re not judging. Just keep future-you happy.)
🌐 7. Protecting Your Account
Simple but essential:
- Use a strong password.
- Avoid logging in on shared devices.
- Don’t share login codes or reset links.
- If something feels wrong, change your password immediately.
🧠 8. Emotional Safety Matters Too
Online interactions can get intense. Protect your mental space.
- You’re allowed to block people for any reason — even small ones.
- Take breaks when needed.
- Don’t feel pressured to reply instantly.
- You never owe someone access to you.
- Muting someone ≠ starting a war.
Set boundaries that make you feel comfortable.
💜 Final Notes
Concord was built to help you connect in meaningful ways — whether that’s friendships, romance, collaborations, communities, or something beautifully in-between. Safety isn’t meant to kill the fun; it’s meant to protect the fun.
Use your privacy settings.
Verify your photos.
Trust your intuition.
And stay thoughtful, curious, and cautious — even with verified profiles.
If you ever feel something’s off, report it. We're here to help. We recommend using the in-app reporting tools, but you can also reach out to us: support@concord.digital. If you or someone you know are in immediate danger, please contact your local security and law enforcement authorities immediately.
